Fernando Duarte

Prof. Dr. Fernando Duarte is a distinguished Oral Surgeon Specialist recognized by the Portuguese Dental Association (OMD) and Fellow of the European Board of Oral Surgery by European Federation of Oral Surgery (EFOS).

He holds a Post-Graduate degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a MSc in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute at University College London, UK. In pursuit of excellence and innovation, Prof. Dr. Fernando Duarte expanded his professional horizons by completing a Master’s in Laser Dentistry at the Laser & Health Academy in Ljubljana, Slovenia and a second MSc in Laser Dentistry at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy.

He holds a PhD in Surgery and Odontostomatology from the University of Salamanca – Spain and a second PhD in Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Portsmouth – UK.

Prof. Dr. Fernando Duarte currently serves as President of the European Federation of Oral Surgery (EFOS) and President of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Cirurgia Oral (SPCO).

He is also responsible for the Department of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Implantology at Clitrofa, Scientific Coordinator of Clitrofa Education Academy, CEO and Clinical Director of Clitrofa, in Trofa, Portugal.

Prof. Dr. Duarte leads a private practice specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Implantology.

With a unique blend of academic prowess, clinical experience, and leadership roles, Dr. Duarte stands as a dedicated professional shaping the future of oral healthcare in Portugal and beyond.

Through his clinical, academic and scientific work, Prof. Dr. Fernando Duarte has contributed to the development, education and recognition of Oral Surgery at both national and European levels.
