About EFOS
The European Federation of Oral Surgery is a scientific organization of charitable nature without any financial gain or ambition.
The EFOS objectives are to protect and preserve public health in the field of Oral Surgery in Europe.
Thus, EFOS wishes to promote
- research into oral surgery
- clinical standards conducive to oral surgery
- advancement of education of oral surgeons, medical and dental practitioners, and other
allied health care professionals
EFOS aims to encourage all forms of collaboration between the Oral Surgery Societies of European
countries.
EFOS also wishes to promote relations with other Organizations and with European or International
Societies in connection with Oral Surgery.
EFOS includes in its missions the National and International steps intended for the recognition by
each state of Europe of the professional field in Oral Surgery within the framework of the European
directives. It is concerned with all proceedings and developments involving the specialty of Oral
Surgery.
EFOS has set up an exam for practitioners who wish to have their skills recognized at a European
level: the EBOS Assessment, which confers the title of "Fellow of the EBOS", is a recognition of the
clinical value of the candidate and of his/her ability to practice oral surgery safely and independently.
